About DoubleStep

No two feet are the same. So why should your shoes be?

Around 20% of people have feet that differ by more than a full shoe size. Yet traditional shoe retailers give us only one option: buy the same size for both feet and compromise. DoubleStep makes split sizing the standard, so you can choose the right size for each foot.

I came up with the idea for DoubleStep after getting fitted for new running shoes at a specialty running store. I was surprised to discover that my left foot is a size 10, while my right foot is a size 11. Suddenly I had an explanation for why the big toe of my right shoe always wears down!

For years, I'd been buying size 10.5 shoes because I assumed that was the best compromise. But a size 10.5 wasn't actually the right size for either foot. One foot had too much room, while the other didn't have enough.

Why should either foot have to compromise?

That's why I created DoubleStep: to make split sizing accessible to everyone. Instead of choosing one shoe size for both feet, you choose the size that fits each foot.

As runners, we know how important it is to have good fitting shoes. Your feet shouldn't have to adapt to your shoes. DoubleStep is built around a simple idea: your shoes should fit you, not the other way around.

Whatever your foot size, shape, or difference between left and right, I hope DoubleStep helps you find a pair that feels like it was made for you.

Sincerely,

Sam Kravitz
